Remarks & Notes
A pair of ex-PRR E8s lead a Penn Central Providence-Boston commuter train under one of the semaphore signal bridges that guarded the approaches to Boston's South Station. These lower quadrant semaphores dated to the terminal's opening in 1899 and lasted until it was reconstructed in the mid-1980s.
