Log train over Alameda Creek. Columbia River Belt Line Railway #7 "Skookum" hauls her demonstration log train over Farwell Bridge, crossing Alameda Creek on a sunny, February morning. Although a nice photo spot, this location is pretty time-sensitive. Get here too early in the morning, and the canyon here is all in shadow. Get here too late and the shot is totally back-lit. Charter leader Pete Lerro clearly did his homework on this day....with a little help from Mother Nature. It was really quite pleasant to be out shooting trains in February light, wearing nothing more than jeans and a light sweater. This was my first winter photo shoot in California, and definitely won't be my last.
