Remarks & Notes

Kicking up fresh January snow, Boston & Maine train MERU (Mechanicville, NY, to Rumford, ME, via B&M/MEC) rolls east through North Leominster, MA, behind three GP40-2s and a GP7. The B&M's GP7s were not normally used in through freight service at this time so it was probably returning from a visit to the East Deerfield shop.
