| This far north its already dusk by 3pm and here the train to Yakutsk is replenished at the town of Tommot. Until last year this was the end of the line but now it continues further north into the Siberian tundra and terminates at Yakutsk - famous as the coldest city on earth, although it was unseasonably warm at a mere -35 degrees Celsius (minus 31 degrees Fahrenheit). |
