Remarks & Notes
Amtrak train 593, the last northbound Pacific Surfliner of the day (thanks to reduced schedules during the COVID-19 pandemic) makes its stop just before 9:00 pm (21:00) in Anaheim, California, during a light rain as it heads to Los Angeles from San Diego. The train didn’t linger long here, as I saw no passengers waiting to board, nor any passengers who detrained at this station. Earlier, at 8:00 pm (20:00), landmarks all over the United States were illuminated blue in a nationwide effort to honor the health-care workers and others on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The city’s Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (a combined rail and bus station) participated in this event by changing its LED lighting to blue for the evening. We cannot thank our health care workers and janitors (disinfecting everything from hospitals to stores to transit vehicles) enough during this time. And, please, shelter in place as infected people don’t always have symptoms but can still be contagious. Also, wash your hands, wear a covering over your mouth and nose and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from others, as I did when photographing this train. (April 9, 2020)

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
