Illinois Central Gulf GP11 #8716 idles at West Yard. #8716 was built August 1956 as New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad (NH) GP9 #1229. Unit later became Penn Central (PC) #7549 and later Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) #7549. In 1979, unit was rebuilt at Paducah Shop as GP11 and after leaving Illinois Central roster became Louisville and Indiana Railroad (LIRC) #8716
