Remarks & Notes
Racing across the plains of Northeastern New Mexico, Amtrak's Southwest Chief prepares to knockdown a clear indication at the 706 semaphores. These will be the last semaphores the Chief encounters as it travels another 1,146 miles to Chicago; a testament to how rare and historic these signals are.

The Southwest Chief is an under-appreciated train. The New Mexico scenery is like none other in the entire system.

Signals with character, many falling into history.
