“Webster” is the location where the KB&S and TP&W cross, just to the west of Sheldon. The old 1913 rail, vintage signals, and Milwaukee Road shack still stand, making this place a blast to the past. Upon arrival of this northbound KB&S train, you could hear its horn and a TP&W train to the east. Being in this dense fog and hearing those two horns, on branchlines that don’t see too many trains, gave you an eerie feeling, almost like you were transported back to the 1970s standing near the tower that once stood here.
In this shot, the KB&S train is returning north from Darrow with 50 loaded hoppers.
