Fifty years ago the Middletown & New Jersey was a modest 7-mile shortline running between Middletown and Johnson, NY, powered by a pair of 44-Tonners. Its days work done, M&NJ 44-Tonner 2 posed outside the railroad's 1872 station/headquarters at Middletown.
