| A late Amtrak No. 5, the westbound California Zephyr, departs Truckee and rolls on the power as it attacks the grade to the Summit over Donner. The first snowfall in quite awhile in the Sierras has fallen overnight and lingers into the afternoon. The snow pack in the Sierras is about half of normal this year. |
