Remarks & Notes

The last Boston & Maine through trains between Boston and Mechanicville, NY, once the railroad's most important freight haul, were Delaware & Hudson connections AP-3 and AP-4. On a rainy afternoon in November 1979, westbound AP-3 was ready to depart the yard at Somerville, MA, behind a pair of GP40-2s and a GP38-2.
