Remarks & Notes
Western Pacific's CCVX is seen here crossing the Humboldt River at the abandoned townsite of Palisade, Nevada. This location in Palisade Canyon was the northern end of the narrow gauge Eureka and Palisade Railroad which was abandoned and scrapped in 1938/39. The bridge in the photo no longer exists. It was destroyed in late 2008 by a derailment of loaded grain cars right on the bridge. It was immediately replaced by a new concrete deck girder bridge. This image was scanned from a color print.
