| Railcars ABe 4/4 # 47 and # 46 of the Rhaetian Railway in multiple control are running along the Lago Bianco on the Bernina pass on the occasion of the snow fighting demonstration event. They are pulling the snow scrapper Xk # 9132, which was built by the Bernina Railway in 1936 as X # 1002 on the frame of a freight car from 1908. The wide wings can be moved outwards (hydraulically since 1974, previously by hand) to cut a channel up to 6 metres wide into the snow. The snow is then placed in the middle of the track and can be ejected by the following snow blower. |
