For a brief period at the start of this century, the Dzherelo tours of Ukraine behind steam delighted railfans from around the world. Sadly, as boiler certificates ran out, the tours were discontinued. Fortunately, our photographs remain.
Crossing the Dneister Canyon, now designated a National Nature Reserve, is 1944-built ALCO 2-10-0 Yea-2026, hauling the rather brightly painted sleepers and dining car that made up the Dzherelo train.
