Geometry. CSX W001-05 passed through Amsterdam, NY on the morning of Wednesday, February 5, 2020 with the standard cab pair of 8850 (SD40-2) and 6025 (GP40-2). Lock 10 of the Erie Canal bisects the train. In spite of a low water level, the waterfalls are evident. The two vintage Schenectady, NY GE built vehicles in the foreground are essentially trolley cars in their design, used to raise and lower the gates of the dam that control the water level.
