"9P" (0-6-0) steam locomotive stands against the backdrop of the blast furnace shop of the first steel plant of Nizhny Tagil. This is unique plant & museum on open air, occupied an area of about 30 hectares and has railway vehicles exhibition. The factory was founded in 1725. It was one of the first metallurgical plants in Russia. At one time it was the largest in all of Europe. Most of the rails for the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway were made in the shops of the Tagil plant. There is a legend that the Statue of Liberty is partially made of copper smelted at this metallurgical plant. The plant was finally stopped in 1987. It is a monument of the industrial heritage of federal importance of the Russian Federation. Community Response
