6 car trainset of the 50000 series of the Nankai Electric Railway on the way as "rapi:t" limited express service from Nankai Nanba station in Osaka to Kansai Airport. 6 of this spectacular trains were built in 1994 by Tokyu Car Corporation, design was made by architect Hiroyuki Wakabayashi, the front end inspired by a Kendo mask. Kendo is a very popular sword fight sport in Japan. The external styling of the train is designed to the theme "Outdated Future", and is the reason for the train's futuristic and retro styling. The end cars feature streamlined cabs with no gangway connections. The cars are painted an all-over metallic deep blue colour. The side windows are elliptical in shape, giving an aircraft-like appearance. Gauge is 1067 mm (cape gauge), electric system 1500 V DC, max. speed 120 km p.h.
