UP 8829 eases a vehicle train through Lansing, IA, and the town would appear to be celebrating its arrival with a flag display along the Mississippi River. This train is operating on CP's main route from St. Paul to Kansas City, which south of La Crescent, MN is non-signaled curvy single track dating back to the Milwaukee Road. Street running and close clearance to private properties keep railroading up close and personal on this route where trains run about half the speed of BNSF on the Wisconsin side. At any rate, the flags give a nice salute to a clean wing equipped UP ACe.
