Remarks & Notes
Under heavy rain, steam from locomotive No. 2 is lost in the clouds, as the convoy enters the Tierra del Fuego national park. On the right it is possible to see one of the few trees that are still standing on the Pipo river valley. In the past, the inmates of the Ushuaia prison were taken by train to this area, where they cut and collected wood for heating the prison precinct. Locomotive No. 2 of the "Ferrocarril Fueguino Austral" is a 0-4-0 + 0-4-0 Garrat and was built by Tranex in Argentina in 1994, especially for the FCAF. Originally, this locomotive was named "Nora", in honor of the wife of the original owner of the railway. However, in 2007, after a series of modifications and technical improvements, it was renamed in tribute to engineer Livio Dante Porta, specialist in steam locomotives.
