Amtrak's northbound Coast Starlight pauses at the distinctive Tacoma Union Station on the last lap of its long journey from Los Angeles to Seattle. Note the steam generator car behind the F40s. At the time this train utilized pre-Heritage Fleet equipment that needed steam even in the summer for hot water.
