Rounding the curve between Summit and Silverwood, and passing the stopped local L-CAL0121-27, is BNSF Railway train B-VVCLAC1-27. This train, pulled by ES44C4 8168 and Dash 9-44CW 4396, is ferrying empty intermodal cars ("baretables" in railroad parlance) from Victorville, where they were being stored, to Los Angeles, where they will be loaded for a train later this week.
