| SP LIVES! Well, this is about as close to the Southern Pacific still being alive and operating on an active mainline as one can get these days. The prelude to an intense storm system is passing over Simi Valley as Union Pacific's LOF41 makes a visit to the local lumber yard to exchange a pair of loads for a trio of empty center beams. Framed during a brief glimpse of sunlight between the clouds, UP 1053's lingering "speed letter" on its sides shows it's former owner that once owned the rails it is sitting on. |
