Remarks & Notes

A four month old Amtrak Empire Builder still shows its BN heritage as it slows to a stop on Milwaukee Road's mainline at Winona, MN. The former NP F9A looks a little forlorn without any identification on its nose for flanks. Note that the GN B units still carry their GN plaques, a little surprising since BN would have used them between 1970 and 1971 in passenger service.
