I was just a kid and using my father's Voigtlander camera on occasion. We were fortunate to see Rio Grande No.1, the "Royal Gorge", as it made its scheduled stop in the depths of the Arkansas River canyon, circa summer of 1960. As this picture illustrates, Rio Grande went "Through the Rockies, not around them", and the Grande did it in style.
