Remarks & Notes
0-8-0 cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 4/4 # 704 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB), most powerful 1 meter gauge cogwheel steamlocomotive of Europe with 800 horsepower, is crossing the Steinstafel viaduct over the Furkareuss between Tiefenbach and Furka DFB, on 1900 meter a.s.l., with a test train from Realp to Gletsch and back. The locomotive was built in 1923 by the SLM Winterthur and delivered to Indochina (Vietnam). It was brought back to Switzerland in 1990 more or less as scrap and was completely rebuilt during about 10 years by volunteers. Now ist is finished and functioning like a swiss clockwork.
