Remarks & Notes
The steamtrain with cogwheel locomotive HG 2/3 # 7 "BREITHORN" (built by SLM in 1906) of the former Visp-Zermatt-Bahn has just passed station and village of Gluringen and is heading for Reckingen (VS), where the loc will take water. The train is not typical for this line through the Goms in the upper part of Valais. On this former Furka-Oberalp-Bahn line the larger HG 3/4 1 to 10 of the FO where used. Nowadays the locomotive is with the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) and stabled in Gletsch (from 2010 as loan, since 2018 owned by the DFB). The locomotive was rebuilt in 2001 with a new boiler and to burn light oil for use on the line from Visp to Zermatt for charter trains. For the line of the DFB with very long rack sections, the power of the locomotive is not appropriate.
