CPR's flagship passenger train "The Canadian" has just begun its 2881 mile journey from Montreal's Windsor Station to Vancouver. Its last run departure from Windsor Station would be on 28 October 1978 after Via Rail took over Canadian passenger train operations in January, 1977.
