The 68-year-old Green Mountain Railroad Alco RS-1, #405, is seen high above the town of Ludlow, Vermont, hauling the afternoon Foliage Express train into the Green Mountains for Vermont Rail System's Green Mountain Railroad Passenger Services. Foliage has turned rapidly during the past week and much of the mountain side has gone from yellow and orange to a lot of brown, while lower level foliage is just seemingly getting into gear.
