History Meet History. A weekend many have been looking forward to, to witness one of the most giant, graceful, beautiful steam engines in the world, the Norfolk & Western 611, on one of the most famed scenic railroads in the country, the Strasburg Railroad. Hundreds on railfans found their way trackside to witness these excursions, shooting photos and videos. But while witnessing a piece of history, many of them may have forgotten about another piece of history. Carpenter's Graveyard, just outside of Paradise, is considered one of the oldest cemeteries in the country. Although many of the tombstones have eroded away, the cemetery contains the remains of people who lived in the area during the early days of the country. It even includes Joseph Lefever, a Congressman during the early 19th century. It seems history will have no bounds this and following weekends on the Strasburg Railroad.
Taking a look at the same train and scene as captured by different photographers. The best way to view will be to sort by photo date so the photos are grouped together.
