On June 26, 2019, Montana Rail Link SD45 No. 346 leads an empty ballast train through the scenic Jefferson River Canyon between Sappington and Whitehall, Montana. The train running on MRL’s Fifth Subdivision and is headed for loading at the pit west of Pipestone on the Spire Rock Industrial Track. Back from the dead, MRL SD45s Nos. 346 and 355 have been shining the railheads on various trains over MRL’s main lines in 2019.
