Bound for Bartlett. The beautiful sunny skies that prevailed through the mid-day have given way to clouds as CN 7470 hauls her photo freight west on the old Maine Central Mountain Division, headed for Bartlett, NH. She's seen here doing track speed along West Side Road, about to run under the Route 302 bridge at Cooks Crossing. While this run is primarily for the fans attending the Conway Scenic Railroad's annual Railfan Weekend, the trip is also hauling a couple of MOW hoppers full of stone, to be pre-positioned in Bartlett for some upcoming track work. Once the train arrives, the fans will be treated to a demonstration of 7470 doing exactly what she was built for.....switching cars in the yard.
