Remarks & Notes
"Full house" in Gletsch station of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) with 3 steamtrains. On track 1 a train towards the Furka pass and Realp with the 0-8-0 T HG 4/4 # 704, which was built in 1923 for Indochina/Vietnam and never run in Switzerland before. The locomotive gets water and the engineer is polishing the complicated "Winterthur" driving gear for the 4 adhesion axles and the two cogwheels. On track 2 is a steamtrain in the opposite direction, down towards Oberwald, with locomotive HG 3/4 # 4. On track 3 is 0-4-2 T HG 2/3 # 6 "Weisshorn", built in 1902 for the Visp-Zermatt Railway, with a freight train, taking new coal. A photographer with a folding camera is taking pictures of some passengers.
