Remarks & Notes |
One meter gauge electric cogwheel mountain railway locomotive from the beginning of the 20th century on the Blonay-Chamby Railroad Museum. The cogwheel (system Abt) locomotive He 2/2 # 2 "La Grisette" of the Bex-Gryons-Villars was built in 1899 by SLM (fabrication number # 1196) and the compagnie de l'industrie electrique de Genève (CIE) (which became later the SAAS). The locomotive was in service for the Bex-Villars-Bretaye railway till the late 1970' for shoving the snow plow. It was then painted grey, so it was named "the grey" (La Grisette in french). After withdrawal is was renovated and painted in this original brown by the association Ferroviaire Bex-Villars-Bretaye (BVB Promotion). In 2011 the locomotive came to the Blonay-Chamby railroad museum and is exhibited in Chaulin museum since 2014. The vintage locomotive was on the line for photo purposes, it is not operational any more and the Blonay-Chamby has no cogwheel sections. |
