| This was the place to be to witness mountain railroading in the east. CR volumes were heavy with manifest traffic, vans and mineral freight. Most tonnage outfits had helpers in both directions and the sound of trains assaulting the mountain was always impressive. MG was still an open office on occasion and the position light signal bridges were an aesthetic delight. It was all good. Here symbol freight LMTO crosses over from No.3 to No. 2 track on its way west in a scene from (not so) long ago. Fuji Velvia.
