Stopping short of the Nicklesville Road crossing in Resaca, GA (MP WA-83.8 SE Resaca) is the massive 12,350 long manifest CSX Q581-11 (Nashville,TN-Atlanta,GA) which is on it's long trek to Tilford Yard, but first the manifest will have to meet the CSX Q242-10 which is about to cross the Conasauga River no less than half a football fields away from where this shot was made. Once the meet is complete the AC-Dispatcher will give the Q581 the signal to continue south on the Western & Atlantic Sub. This is also a very special, and bitter sweet day, as the engineer that was assigned to today's Q581 Mike Barnett was on his last run south to Atlanta rapping up a long 30+ year career with both Chessie System, and CSX, honestly he had his work cut out as he was training an engineer trainee, but a chapter closes on one of the many few of the true railroad old heads Happy Retirement Mike!
