The Final Day
When photographed on February 25, 2019, I had no idea that it would be the last day of service for this magnetic flagman grade crossing signal in downtown Anaheim, California. I was hoping to catch a train running down Santa Ana Street, and I wanted to incorporate this vestige of railroading's glory years in the photo. The train never came - I either missed it, or it was very delayed. Sadly, later this day I was informed that by the afternoon, this signal had been removed. I was hoping that I had a few more days to try again...
