CSX Q155-20 glide south through the quite community of Ringgold, GA on this mid July evening along the CSX Western & Atlanta Sub (WA) heading for the Intermodal facility on the greater Atlanta area of Fairburn, GA. Track work is still prevalent in the area as CSX C016-15 is tied down, and left running on the house track in Ringgold. What seem to be interesting even in the world of General Electric on CSX, EMD products still make an appearance when it is needed. CSX 4779 a later version of the SD70AC "Flared Radiator" is assigned to this tie train. The SD70's are becoming smaller in numbers on the CSX locomotive roster as 130 of these 4700 series "Flared Radiator" are still on the active roster. Unlike their kin the 4500 series on 71 of the first gen SD70AC are left on the locomotive roster. It's nice for a change to see one of these 4700 series SD still being put to good use.
