Passing under the signal bridge (and also passing an equipment detector) at milepost 56.2 on Cajon Pass is BNSF Railway train S-LHGALT1-17A, a double stack train making its way from Los Angeles Harbor CA (GGS) to Alliance TX on August 18, 2018. It is late summer and Cajon Pass is very dry due to very little rain during the region's rainy season earlier this year. One of BNSF's many ES44C4 locmotives, in this case 8121, is leading this quartet of General Electric diesel locomotives. BNSF 8121 is working with engines 4969, 6705 and 7059 to defy gravity as they lift this heavy train over the nearly 4000' high Cajon Pass.
