Westbound BNSF Railway train S-ALTSCO1-14 (Intermodal Stacks; Alliance TX to Thenard CA) is met by eastbound BNSF train Q-LACNSA6-17 (Guaranteed Service Intermodal; Los Angeles CA to NS-Ashland Ave Yard IL) on May 17, 2019. The Q-train is ascending the grade through Santa Ana Canyon as it follows the Santa Ana River. BNSF ES44DC 7511, Norfolk Southern Dash 9-44CW 9781, NS ET44AC 3612, BNSF SD70ACe 8412 and BNSF ES44C4 6578 are a nice break from the usual BNSF GEs, as each of the five engines is a different model, and two builders and two railroads are represented as well.
