Remarks & Notes
Metro-North commuter train 746, from Croton-Harmon NY to New York City's Grand Central Terminal, departs the busy (and that is a huge understatement!) Harlem-125th Street station on July 19, 2018. MNCW cab car 6223 (the "Mark Twain") leads this train as it ticks off the last few miles to Grand Central, with MNCW P32AC-DM 231, one of four of these dual-mode locomotives (both third rail electrical pickup for use in NYC's tunnels, and diesel power) painted in the attractive New Haven McGinnis paint scheme. All four mainlines drop down into the tunnels for below-grade running into the heart of Manahattan just ahead.
