Remarks & Notes
A short Union Pacific special train winds through the desert at Cabazon, California, just after sunset (on the Sunset Route!) on November 18, 2017. Six passenger cars (Missouri River Eagle, Katy Flyer, Sunshine Special, Portland Rose, Columbine and Kenefick) are deadheading from Council Bluffs IA to Oakland CA for winter storage. The train, PCBOA3-16, is being pulled by a pair of SD70ACes - 1943 ("The Spirit of Union Pacific") and 9088. But in this view, observation car Kenefick is the center of attention as the train passes one of hundreds of wind generators found on windy Beaumont Hill.
