Redondo Over - Under. As Union Pacific 7625 leads the westbound rock train through Redondo Junction and toward the Alameda Corridor, Amtrak 785 cruises above on its decent toward CP Olympia and the halfway point for this train - Los Angeles Union Station. Following its station stop here, the train will continue north to Goleta where it will spend the night before returning south the following morning. In the foreground of this golden-hour lit scene above, the 1927-built Redondo turntable, once a fixture of the Santa Fe roundhouse here, remains in operation today for Amtrak and Amtrak California locomotives like the new SC-44 Chargers.
