5 of this electrolocomotives type 15 were built in 1962 by La Brugeoise et Nivelles and ACEC and were the first polycurrent locomotives ordered by SNCB/NMBS. They were designed for use on the 25 kV 50 Hz system in Northern France, the 3 kV DC system used in Belgium and the 1.5 kV DC system in use in the Netherlands. Power is 2780 kW and max velocity 160 km/h. # 1503 is exhibited in the Train World in Bruxelles. On the right is diesellocomotive 211 # 006 (later series 64 # 006) from 1962 with a Cockerill prime mover and hydraulic transmission.
