Remarks & Notes
A pair of Union Switch & Signal H-2 searchlight signals protect the mainline on the Union Pacific's Alhambra Subdivision atSpadra, in the city of Pomona, California, on July 5, 2017. (This is the former Southern Pacific's West Line of the Basin Sub. The SP called this location Spadra.) Heading west is Union Pacific train KAILC 02 (intermodal, Atlanta GA to Los Angeles CA) with NS SD70ACe 1074 (the "Lackawanna Heritage" unit), NS SD60E 6913, UP SD70M 4192 and UP SD70M 4635. Not long after this photo was taken, this former SP mainline was taken out of service and is used only for car storage today.

Pace and pan shots of trains from on the ground or in the air. If you're not in the locomotive cab or on-board the train, it's the next best thing to being there.
