Vermont Rail System's Saturday slurry (and salt) train 263-08 required a 6-unit consist to move 63-cars and 8,190 tons up the nearly 2% grade from Rutland to the summit of the Green Mountains on June 8. The train is seen digging into the grade at East Clarendon, Gaynor's Crossing, with an all-VRS family consist that includes VTR GP40-2 307, GP40-2L 310, VTR GP38-2 202 (Washington County paint), CLP GP40-2 306, VTR GP40-2 308 and CLP GP38-2 204.
