Since Union Pacific Railroad 6900 (DD40X, EMD) and 4023 (4-8-8-4, Alco) were relocated to the new City of Omaha Kenefick Park in 2005, the "Welcome To Omaha" display along Interstate 80 has some real appeal. On a sunny Monday, April 29, 2019, a crowd comes to see the engines just ahead of sister "Big Boy" 4014 being readied to operate a series of specials for the 150th Anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad at Promontory Point. Kenefick Park is named for former Union Pacific Chairman and CEO John C. Kenefick, and shares a location with the beautiful Lauritzen Gardens overlooking the Missouri River.
