The iconic Pennsylvania Railroad color position light signals have stood on the Pittsburg Line since the days of steam and have seen four railroads. Sadly, they are all being replaced in favor of modern positive train control cab signals. On a clear April night, PT 254 at Lilly stands guard over trains moving up and down the West Slope. Nobody knows for sure how much longer this signal will stand, as crews have been making progress and are currently just East of Altoona.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
