As the afternoon rush hour approaches, half of the MBTA's fleet of 8 ex-PRR E8s have moved from the service tracks into Boston's South Station, where they will split into two pairs and couple onto waiting coaches. At the time pairs of E8s were the usual power for the MBTA's Boston-Providence rush hour trains, which were among system's heaviest jobs.
