Tailgating the Nostalgia Special! In what has become a welcomed annual tradition, for New York Yankees Opening Day the MTA New York City Transit Subway/New York Transit Museum operated its 1917 IRT Lo-Vs from Grand Central to Yankee Stadium. For no more expense than the swipe of a MetroCard, passengers were able to experience how commuters rode a century ago, with the same sounds and rattan seats. A group of fans looks on as the train starts to return south, and most would later be pleased as the Yankees emerged victorious 7-2 over the Baltimore Orioles.
