Remarks & Notes |
Foremarke Hall #7903 was designed by F W Hawksworth, the last Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Great Western Railway and is a member of the Modified Hall class. The locomotive has been built at Swindon in 1949 under BR auspices. The engines were built to haul both express passenger and freight trains. In 1951 Foremarke Hall was the first locomotive to travel from London to Plymouth in under four hours. Its final shed was Cardiff East Dock and withdrawal took place in 1964. The engine was moved to nearby Barry Scrapyard and it was rescued in 1981 by the Foremarke Hall Transport Group. |
